Website Header Illustrator needed (specifications in this post):

Can you design a header for my site which would look like this:

On the right side is a man on a small island who is sitting in a beach
chair or recliner and working on his lap top computer. He is being shaded
by a palm tree. In the back of him is a small simple building with the word BANK on it and a dollar sign next to the word BANK $

Water is between the island and the mainland with sharks sticking their noses and fins out of the water. But near the man on the small island friendly dolphins are in the water.

On the left hand side shows the mainland with a barbed wire fence around
it with a sign above the doorway which reads: The Kingdom of Debt and
Slavery

Inside you can see people walking around with balls and chains attached
to their legs and guards in the towers above with guns watching them.
On the balls are the words: "debt" and "taxes" Some balls have the word
debt on them and some balls have the word taxes on them.

The sun is shining on the man working on his laptop in the chair or recliner. But clouds
are over the people in slavery and lightening is coming out of the clouds
toward them.

Yes, but that is more along the lines of iilustration, then it has to be turned into a header......so the rate for this is going to be higher than a normal header........If you really want a great drawing like this, I can do it but like I said it will cost you, that idea would take a while to draw. Then colorize ect........

there's a lot going on in that header! As said that's pretty much a straight illustration job, either through traditional hand drawn means or photo montage. Is there ever going to be any extra text than what you have mentioned on the header?

go down the hand/computer drawn route and the quality of it will be down to the illustrator's skills - photo montage route and that will be down to picking/licencing the right images and then balancing the composition. As a very rough guide i'd charge $450 for a job like that. But it's not really my usual type of work so I wouldn't get me to do it! Check my sig if you want to see the type of stuff I do, I don't think it really fits in with what you're after though

hehe... i`m sorry if this thread needed not to be bumped, but it is very funny.

why do people believe that you may request the entire moon and sky from a designer, and is ok to pay just as for a small cirrus cloud? It never works in the grocery shops...:confused:

as branding bible says, this is either complex illustration, or heavy photomontage. And above all, having something moving in the backgroud ads a "tiny" flash attached to it (cuz a gif of the size of the header would either look poor or load forever...)

Mr/s WorldAmbassador, if someone make this for you with under $100, you should hold him tight and never let go :p

I agree 100% , I do work like this all the time, and I wouldn't even look at it for less than $250, your talking HOURS of work. Just the outlining, with line art of that many elements would take a day.

Then coloring, and shading on top of that.

1 person drawn to look realistic and colored can take 3 - 4 hours.

your talking 20-30 people dolphins , sharks, water etc. this is a 3-4 day job

That is okay, I do not want something that would take up too much space and thus take a long time to download into people's browsers.

Someone else contacted me by email and told me that they had created a header for me and it was attached. But the header was not attached and I did not give that person authorization to create a header for me. So no one should try this before I authorize you to do the project. Please do not try and force any work on me that I have not authorized you to do.

Also, is it possible to have a header created that fits all screen resolutions. The header on my site looks fine in my small screen but when I look at it on the library computer it is one third the size and only takes up one third of the space and looks terrible. That is one of the strongest reasons I wanted another header to be created for my site. I need to get one that expands and contracts depending on which computer is bringing up the site. Please comment.

The reason you have not heard from me is because I selected someone to do the work for me and they are almost finished.

The work is in the process of having some finishing touches placed on it but for the quality and price I am getting and paying I am getting an excellent deal that I am very excited about.

I will reveal who this illustrator/designer for a web site header is after I have paid them and after they have delivered the work to me and it is installed on my web site.

I am excited about having found someone I plan on using again in the future for creatoring not only headers but web sites also.

The header is finished and it is beautiful. It is amazing !!! It is exactly what I wanted and it was very very reasonably priced. But the header is too large for my present web site and takes too much time to upload since it is 220 KB and I have quite a few pages on the site already with a lot of KB.

So I am going to have another shorter site built that the header will work on and this site will be built to capture email names and build a list and direct people to the main web site that has all the pages on it with information about my products and services.

Those of you who are experienced with headers and the loading time.... Do you think that the header of 220 KB will load quickly if my site is only about four or five pages without too much additional KB besides the header? Or is a 220 KB header a slow loader regardless of the small amount of KB of other features of the site? Need some feedback about this.

I personally am curious as to what you ended up with and what it cost you, if you do not want to post it publickly you could P.M. me with a link to your header image maybe.

I honestly know that the amount of work that had to go into this project, at least what you described had to take at least 6 hours most likely more, of not only brainstorming but illustrating and then setting up the layout just right.

Just curious as to what that kind of work looks like and cost?

Are you a cartoonist? Do you have that kind of talent? That is what I really need for this project.

Another possibility as I have said before is to find an already made header that has a beautful girl sitting on a beach facing the ocean with a palm tree beside her and she is working on her lap top. This kind of header has already been created but I need to find who sells it.

Since there are so many service providers(freelancers/firms) and they may be providing you their service at quite competitive prices. I suggest you to go through the work they have already done for their past clients. Or if they have done something similar in the past, which suits your present requirement.

This will not only give you a sneak peek into their potential to perform but also guarantee you the success of your project. It is not always necessary that if a freelancer is cheap at its pricing can not provide you the quality matching to firm. Freelancers quote less price because they directly work with the client.

On the same note a company is bound to provide you a quality service, if it really cares about its name in the market. So never try to skip an idea of hiring a firm for your design requirements. keep them in your book of possibilities.

Once again I would suggest you to go through the portfolio or work samples of the service provider, any a firm or a freelancer, before hiring.
