What do you recommend? I plan on having from 5 to 100 products 4 or 5 stores and need to know the simplest way that would look and feel the best when visiting.

I know basic HTML, but would like to use an editor because I know they are simple for adding products. I have found associate-O-matic and StoreStacker. StoreStacker looks aesthetically better IMO. I have also considered getting Xsite Pro 2 because I have more ideas that I am planning on. With Xsite pro 2 I think it would be more of a hassle to add all the products and get them optimized, but I would have more control over the final product.

The automatic Amazon site builders are pretty cool, but I've found that they don't convert very well. I've used Associate-o-matic and PopShops, which is like store stacker. I've also used WP-Robot / amazon autoposter.

I've actually found that a single WP blog with 10 hand written articles about specific products makes more money than a 'store' type site with 500.

You get way more traffic because of the unique content and the fact you can properly SEO. Also, and this is really important, people don't trust most sites that have a store look to them, especially if they can see it's an affiliate site. But, they trust blogs. A Wordpress site makes people more comfortable.

You also give the visitor a lot less choice, so you don't overwhelm them. If you just give them 5 - 10 products to choose from you have a way better chance they'll click through to Amazon. Then your chance of getting a sale goes way higher.

You can just pick a niche, then use the top ten best selling products in that niche.

One plugin I do like to use is Amazon Product In A Post - WordPress › Amazon Product In a Post Plugin WordPress Plugins

All you need is the ASIN for the product and it automates the process of grabbing images and making your affiliate link. You can write your own content, so you get the best of both worlds.

You get a look like this:

To get ideas for niches, just go to Google Product Search and every time you refresh you'll see products people are searching to buy right now.

    Good luck with your quest.

I have one caveat about Amazon autoposters: if you autopost a few products a day for a long time, you end up in the SERPs for specific product searches. So if someone searches for "18 gauge wire hanger by BrandX", they will hit your site if you have autoposted an 18 gauge wire hanger by BrandX. You're right though that my sites don't convert very well at all, often at less than 1%.

      Hi Kezz,

It is very useful informaiton, but at last you said about 'ASIN'! I can't understand it. Can you elaborate it little?

I cannot agree more. Remember, people go to the internet not to buy. But to get information to help them decide what to buy. Provide unique content unavailable anywhere else, not only will you get free seo traffic, you will also see higher conversions to your traffic, because you are giving your visitor what they are looking for - great unique, content.

It is harder and takes more work to create websites with great, original unique content. Which is why most marketers won't do it. Which is why if you decide to provide that content, your competition is a lot less than you think. Besides, with unique content, no one else will have a website like yours (unless they copy it) which makes you stand out.

Just find out what people want and then give people want they want... the $ will follow...

    Hey Kezz,

Thanks for the insight. I have thought about setting up WP blogs for them, and probably will for some of the more focused items.

For other niches though, I will still probably try a site builder. Better to try it at least, you know? SiteStacker says that the stores are SEO optimized, so thats really a big plus in open niches. I am trying to develop a method of building a site upfront and just promoting it through with SEO, backlinks and articles mostly. The time involved is a major factor. There is an advantage to having a template that you can load up multiple times rather that writing blogs for each niche, although outsourcing is easy enough.

I will try out WP though, Daniel Brock has put up a pretty good guide in the main forum I think explaining it in detail if you want to check that out.

Thinking about it, how would a word press blog and a store fare on one site? WP for targeted traffic and sales and the shop for a broader selection.
