What I'd like right now:

1) A logo that is search engine friendly (includes highlightable text) and graphically appealing
2) Graphical newsletter sign up button and widget with advice on how to set up a mailing list for free.
3) Adjusted fonts for widgets to match other fonts
4) Added donate now button
5) Open to other graphical adjustments

My website is Moving to China Blog: Quitting Corporate America to Pursue Life in Shanghai, China. Feel free to e-mail me at mike@movingtochinablog.com. I am looking for someone who is strong with web 2.0 graphics.

Thanks,

Mike

Graphic logos aren't seo friendly as the spiders can't see images - not sure what you are after with that.
You can use the alt tags for seo.

Here is a page of plugins @ wordpress.org that may give you the free mailing list you seek.

As for the sign up botton that could easily be made in a graphic program.

This is in your css stylesheet.

Paypal, if you have an account, provides this - just copy code into your site.

Looks like you have blown up paid for theme. Maybe you should get support from the site you bought it from

What do you mean by this? Are web 2.0 graphics different than regular graphics?

Thanks for the advice. I am very new to website development and need some help understanding what to do. I'd prefer to pay an expert to help me rather than try to figure it out myself (at this time). Something like adjusting CSS is beyond the scope of my knowledge. I am even rather limited in making button graphics.

With regards to web 2.0 graphics, I am looking for the types of graphics you would find for any search on google for "web 2.0 graphics". Nothing too intense.

I'll look through the plug in site you sent me for donate widgets as well as a possible newsletter widget.

      Best regards,

      Mike

The best reply I can give you is to do what I did when I was looking for help with my wordpress blog - go to elance.com / guru.com and odesk.com and put in exactly what you are looking for. There are numerous graphic artist, however be sure to check out their work and their comments. And when possible, go with someone who is middle of the road.. the lower end of the graphic artists, tend to more times than not, waste time.. they may be 'okay' but if time is not a luxury you have, go for an artist who is around $8-$10 - which still isn't really bad... and you can get a real good gaugae on how well they do and how fast they are... and great comments mean more to them than just a buck... good luck...

Good advice. I've dealt with good and bad providers at both extremes. I'd love to find someone who fits my needs to stick with.
