I am trying to add an opt in form to a new wordpress blog using aweber. There are very simple instructions on aweber's site and I have followed in to the letter- these instructions really are just a few steps see:

How Do I Integrate My Wordpress Blog With AWeber? :: AWeber Knowledge Base

But every time I use the java snippet and click save in the text widget in disappears. When I use either version of the raw HTML what shows on the blog is not the web form but the raw HTML. I am not running any ad blockers or anything that prevent opt in forms from showing up - so what could the problem be and what should I try?

Are you hosting your Wordpress blog on your own domain or is it hosted at Wordpress.com?

I think the answer is yes, I have a tuition client who had a site on wordpress.com and initially he needed me to help him learn how to use wordpress, his site was on wordpress.com and he wanted things like this in the sidebar, the same thing happened, you could paste in code into the text widgets but it wouldn't stick just kept disappearing.

So we moved him over to self hosted so he could do what he wanted with his site.

So I think, yes, going by that recent experience.

      Hope that helps

      Hi Rane,

Using Wordpress.com is definitely the problem. They do not allow the use of embedded scripts or forms in the blogs.

Susanne is a good resource to use as well. I've known her for a while and she talks a straight game.

Our company can also set you up with low-cost hosting and we have a 1-click install of Wordpress so you do not have to be a technical person to get started. I won't leave you a link here, but let me know if you need my help after you look at Susanne's packages.

      Cheers,
      E.
