Blog plugins for HTML Mini-sites

Dear All,

I want to stick with my self-built css/html sites but would like to add blog-like comments to end of some pages as is the norm these days. I do not want to use WordPress or similar. I prefer to learn new not-so-easy stuff to keep my aging brain at work and css/html/etc is good for this.

Can anyone recommend plugins/tools for such work? I guess I might need to move into PHP or similar, is that the case?

    Google up Cute News and you can add a small bit of code anywhere on your site and start the topic off and people can comment on it.

    And spent some time reading up on the reCaptcha tool and it is a great way for them to fund a free service. Definitely worth supporting.
