Video Rendering Issue

Hi guys,

I'm rendering a web video from Sony Vegas in the "MainConcept AVC/AAC mp4" format.

I'm streaming the video from my Amazon S3 account and using JW Player. The problem is that the video seems to have to download completely before it starts streaming.

It appears to be an issue with the Sony Vegas rendering. When I render the same video from Camtasia as an mp4 it works perfectly.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Not in a lot of years, I use Final cut pro but you might try using FFMPEG to roll it out using another codec, not sure but I think H264 should be much more friendly.

The reason your file loads slow is due to the metadata being at the end of the file. As a result the ENTIRE file has to load before it can began to plan. If you move the metadata to the front of the file (as camtasia does by default) it will play instantly...

    Cheers!

I searched around and it seems that others are experiencing the same issue with the mp4 codec when exporting from Sony Vegas. I just export as a WMV and then encode it to an FLV.

    Thanks
