How To Get Wordpress Off And Upload HTML Site?

HI, anybody happen to know how to upload a plain html main page I just designed onto an existing Wordpress site?

I want the WP site GONE. All I want is the new page to overwrite it, so to speak. I've uploaded and the old wp is still there? ...any suggestions?

There may be an .htaccess file re-directing to the WordPress home page you've specified.

Simply delete your WordPress directory and delete the database from within your hosting control. Make sure to backup the database and files in case you decide to restore the old site.

Take a backup before deleting.
Keep your wordpress them with you and then create simple html.

OK, I deleted 3 wp folders...re-uploaded new html site:
now I get this message on a blank page when I visit site address:

Warning: require(/home2/MY ID/public_html/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/MY ID/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 246

'MY ID' is replacing actual user name...

any thoughts what this means?

You needed to delete all of the root WP files also.

Got it!...I couldn't find just one root file containing all the WP files so I just deleted a whole list of them manually, and...it worked. I know others love WP, but I find it to be difficult and unforgiving most of the time, so this will be much easier!
