Wordpress category page help

Hi

I want to create a category page where I'll have a tab in the home page with the category name, and I would like to be able to click on that category tab and see all the posts I've published about that category to all appear in date chronological order.

So say I have 3 categories: tab 1(cooking) tab 2(tips) tab3 (companies)

Each of those categories will have a designated tab in the home page with all the posts I've published. So all posts about cooking, tips, and companies are all gonna be displayed as it should on a blog. When a visitor clicks on those tab for a certain category say cooking, I would like that page to display the posts categorized under cooking in chronological order.

I want the similar display layout as the one in my home page.

is there a page template to do this?

Can anybody help me with this?

    You could use custom menus in WordPress 3.0 and add each category to your menu (navigation) bar.

    You could also add the categories widget to a sidebar.
