Help with Keyword Winner WP Plug-In

If this weren't something I really need I'd have asked for a refund by this time. If I can't get any help here I'll have no choice but to do that.

The Keyword Winner plug-in from Daniel Lew comes with very inadequate installation instructions for a non-techie like me, and repeated requests for help have yielded absolutely none. Fortunately, I've had some experience with WP and uploading plug-ins, so I did get it uploaded sucessfully.

BUT, I can't use it because of this utterly inscrutable (to me) part of the so-called instructions:

2, Edit permissions on

wp-content/plugins/keyword-winner/output/google_insight_cookie.txt
wp-content/plugins/keyword-winner/output/google_trends_cookie.txt

to "read","write" for all like

chmod 666 /wp-content/plugins/keyword-winner/output/google_insight_cookie.txt
chmod 666 /wp-content/plugins/keyword-winner/output/google_trends_cookie.txt

I haven't a clue what it means. But I have to do something, because I'm supposed to enter the receipt number in the Licensing page and enter my Google log-in info on that page before I can use the plug-in at all. But I can't get TO them because when I try to access the pages on which to do that, I get this message: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page."

I hope someone in this forum can give me a hand here because my experience with the so-called support for this product has been quite disappointing.
