i deleted the website files i had uploaded before and replace it with a new but it is giving me problem.

When you log on to the site it shows 2 things- instead of the site-new files directly. 2 things it shows are:

*the name of the site- Upjesusfurniture
*cgi-bin
then this messages

"Apache mod_fcgid/2.3.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at Index of / Port 80"
On clicking the cgi-bin, it shows this message
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache mod_fcgid/2.3.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at Index of / Port 80

Please what do i do to remove this cgi-bin stuff and let my site show directly?

Please help me, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Thanks

sounds like a permission error, for most CGI bins the correct permission setting is 755 but not always, (personally I hate CGI) but that is OT, so if you have FTP just set the permissions for that directory to 755,

ON a second but more serious issue, you need to upload the website files into the root of your website, server, else, use htaccess to point to the sub folder, for SEO it is better to use the root, but if you plan on hosting more than one website on that account use either a redirect, from the control panel, or htaccess.

Hi, depending on what you want to do, only one website, per directory.

        then public_html

If, you want to host more than one site then use a redirection inside the control panel, and just point to the folder, but I would recommend using the front end of the cpanel if you can, that would be the easiest path for multiple websites within the directory,

Most FTP software is really about the same, with a few exceptions, here is a screen shot of how a CGI-BIN should appear properly configured,

        755,

In order for CGI scripts located in the CGI-BIN to function the above configuration needs to show 755 you can usually right click on windows or get info on mac, to adjust this setting.

    root = public_html

Never touch the rest! Don't touch cgi-bin if you don't know what it is! Actually, NEVER touch anything if you don't know what it is

Everything you upload MUST go into public_html, that's your root directory.

    Forget the rest...

just go to your cpanel, open file manager, then open the folder with your website files, select all files, move the files to public_html takes about 2 minutes.
