Problems with flash display...
I made some videos for my site using Windows MovieMaker in Pal (16:9) format. The original resolution is 856 X 482 (16:9). I then convert to FLV to play on my site in a custom video player at 470 X 260 (also 16:9).
The problem is that I want to convert to a smaller resolution to reduce file size. I have a half dozen converters and it seems odd that nobody offers 16:9 frame sizes. The sizes available are all 4:3, except for "original" which creates a helluva big flash file.
I've tried using these settings but, even stranger, I get a very thin, very high aspect ratio display. I figured 640 X 480 would do the job and fill the screen, but no. The only thing that works is setting at "original".
For some reason, the same file coverted to swf at 352 X 288 plays fine in my player but everyone advises against using SWF.
Can anyone explain what's going on here and, even better, how to convert my wmv to flv with 16:9 aspect ratio?
