Hiding a page on wp?

This seems like such a basic thing but I can't find the solution for it.

How do I create a page in WP that doesn't show up in the navigation menu?

    You can exclude pages from your navigation menu by editing the code or (if your theme permits) use the Menu feature in Admin . . .

    You can also set a page to "Visibilityrivate" in the "Publish" controls on the right hand side.

      The only gotcha there is that visitors then will not be able to see the page unless they are logged into WordPress. The private page removes the ability to see the page without being authenticated. I think the OP simply wants to remove the page from being displayed in the navigation but would still like the ability to link to it elsewhere.
