Tips for starting a new website

Put it up now. You can throw a few pages up and get some e-mail addresses as well as build PR.

For PR you edit some id and some sites there. Then your PR will be good. f you want some more info about your site then pm me.

I think that you don't have to wait for your completion of your site. Upload your site and do some optimization work and continue with your web site completion. When it will be completed then you have to only work on remaining part of the site.

Put it now because if you waited for it to complete then someone would take your preferred domain name. If you put your site as early as possible search engines would crawl your link and it helps your link popularity and PR.

Yes I would buy it now and age the domain. I would also do keyword research *before* you develop the site, it may help steer the site.

I suggest you will wait first if everything is already okay before you move so that things will not get complicated.

- Consider a WordPress theme
- Free or cheap web hosting
- Designing exclusively for search engine
- Not buying a domain name

I would personally wait until its finished. But I am new to all of this. I have built a small site and waited until it was done.

If you starting a new website, first you should register the domain then only you can do seo on this website..

Get it up now and add to it as you go. Google likes that.

Purcahse a domain. Let it be with dummy pages.

I would build wordpress- base website, because website with updated contents has more possibility to rank high in Search Engines.

About the look, choose a theme that can convert wp blog look like a static website.

Regardless of what software you use to build a website, there are some basic do’s and don’ts you need to keep in mind. It's very easy to get carried away on your first site and do things that send visitors away which is most definitely not what you want to do.


When you build a website:


Do keep your web site simple.

Do make it eye pleasing.

Don’t use a Flash introduction.

Don’t put music or sound files on your site.
Don’t put a lot of slow-loading graphics on your page.

Do make sure visitors to your site can tell at a glance what your site is about.

Don’t use pop-ups on your web site.

I think you do not have to wait for you to complete your site. Upload your site, do some optimization work, and continue to complete your site. Will be completed, then you have only the rest of the site.

Do you want a keyword based domain name or a generic one that you will use to identify your brand? This is a most important first decision. If, and only if, you can answer that question now, then go ahead and search for a domain that you will be happy with for ever after.

Purchase your domain name and put up at least two pages, a home page and an "about us" page. Summarize on the home page what your site will be about and encourage visitors to check back later. Try to do some basic SEO on the page. Try to use keywords that you plan to use in the long run.

When you have completed additional pages that you feel pretty comfortable with, go ahead and upload them. If a newly uploaded page refers to another page that doesn't exist yet, upload the other page with a "coming soon" statement. If you plan things carefully your visitors won't be put off if they see your site under construction.

Building a site "live" gives the search engines an opportunity to start indexing and visitors a preview of what is to come. It also gives you the best visual on how the final product will look.

Everything I have learned has shown me to do things in this order:
1. keyword research to determine the top buying keyword phrases that get enough traffic to warrant my time
2. purchase a dot com domain with the top keyword phrase in its name.
3. put up content immediately
4. build content and links daily

Purchase a domain first then build your content.

Piper97 brings up a great point regarding domain names. If you are targeting a lot of the niche stuff, a domain name with your keywords should help. However, for most things...I'd stick with a brand. Wish some SEO you can rank many terms on a "nondomain" friendly site, by using all in one seo, and building High PR backlinks (maybe SE Nuke it a few times)

I would get the domain now to secure the name you require but would wait until the content is finished prior to publishing.

Would you want people to see the site before it's finished. If not, then you don't want it indexed, you don't want it on line, so there's no point registering the domain name.Its strongly recommended that you should buy a domain now and start working on it. It will not online increase the domain authority but also age of the site does matter in SEO

Just to throw my 2 cents here - - Buy the domain and build the site (I'm using WordPress but it's up to you) - Add some keyworded content, again with WP is great that you can program new posts so it will build gradually - Definitely offer information on your product and progress - Build a list

One major tip is, find something that you enjoy doing and write about that. I enjoy talking about hockey. I played and watch the sport all my life. Something I enjoy doing.

Publish you pages gradually. It signals google and search engines that your site is growing and growing. They come to your site sooner and crawl your site.

I recommend getting the domain now and like you said using a landing page to
get indexed by the search engines; and you can also start a list of people who
want to be notified of when the site opens on the same landing page.

Do a landing page with a wordpress theme and started adding other pages. Age helps in ranking so you might as well get started. There is no such thing as perfection on the Internet nor does Google give you extra points!

Before starting your work you have to register the search engines like Google, Yahoo and bing.. Then we will link building method..

You can put some pages up and later add the preceding pages so you will not waste your time.

ive always thought to just start with something instead of nothing and add content as you go....google luvs new content and its no.1 more fresher more better rank...top rankings really are on pages that change quite often
