    Hi Mike,

I recommend the Headway Theme. It includes a visual editor that makes it easy to create and layout once you get familiar with the options. You can also use 'headway hooks' to further customize your theme. Any questions, just make a post in the support forum.

LOL... all wordpress sites essentially look the same. Some, I can tolerate and think it looks decent for being wordpress, but honestly, you should be using joomla or drupal for anything that is not a blog or mini site.

Have to disagree... not all Wordpress themes look like blogs....

There are some great themes from StudioPress, and others that look nothing like blogs....

You can use Wordpress as a CMS and build pages and pages.

Joomla or Drupal are CMS. Use Wordpress instead.

You can even take the new 2010 theme, do a little customization, and have a nice website that doesn't look like a blog....

I guess you have to ask yourself "What does a blog look like and why don't I want my website to look like a blog?"

A blog takes the most recent post and shoves the content on top of less recent content. A blog tends to be more newsy.

A traditional website has a defined structure, that looks like an upside down tree.

And you can create this structure using Wordpress. Just use the right theme, and create pages not posts.

      Hope this helps.

Stick with Joomla, you can design a professional looking website in less than a week. Search google for joomla contruction company template, then customize your chosen template to the extent where it looks nothing like the original template.
