Ok so challenge #1 - let to a hack of the index.php file - sucked!

I wanted to merely display the comments [ which are now closed ] on a post that is the sticky and one and only post on hte home page of my blog. But Comments on the homepage dont display with out some absurd code hack.

Seriously? Lame. After hrs of reading threads on wp.org knowledge base - finally found some cryptic post from some dude who's english was barely mediocre - god bless him ... and all ya got was the code snip. I just went for it and tossed in where i thought it seemed logical - 3 tries and it turned out ok in hte end there ... sidebars were whacked and misaligned content - but got it sorted in the end.

Again I ask - seriously? comments on the home page requires an act of the PHP congress?


Next - I want to customize the Title Tags of the home - landing page - and hte meta description [ call to action enticing and juicy ] NOT some randome excerpt text!!!

Where the hell is that- I cant even get a freaking plugin to work with a decent them for this - gotta re - hack that too!!! twenty 10 theme gets close but really?

You need a custom plugin to make a title / meta descr / and meta kw's ?

Please tell me there is a better way? Cant there be a theme that just does all this?

All i need is to teak the title / description and kw meta ... AND ... AND have my comments [ testimonials ] show on hte home page - landing page.


theme - plugins combo of the two would be helpful.

    I know it doesn't help, but you should use Joomla.

    Anyway, I'm not sure how you had problems with WP, it is very simple. Just go into header.php and do it manually! You can add both titles and metas that way.

    u make it seem more complicated than it really is. my kids dont have trouble with this stuff man. good luck though i hope you can figure it out. you can pm me if you like if i know the answer to your question ill answer lol.

      That's a useless post if i've ever seen one.

      If you know the answer to his problem, post it here. If not, then why are you commenting? If your kids know better, then get them to answer the question.

    Easy deal:

    Create a Page with your content + testimonials.
    Then edit AIOSEO plugin details - keywords, description, title, etc

    Finally, head over to Dashboard/Settings/Reading and choose that page to homepage display.

    3 minutes and you're done with it.
