Should we(web designers & developers) phase out the support for IE6? I'm still having it on my clients' website but it seems like there's no point having IE6 compatible browsers anymore.

How about you? What's you opinion? :confused:

    I still do, if a client specifically requests it. They pay dearly, though.

    Has your client got any existing analytics data showing the % of users that view his site in IE 6? If it is a significant % of his traffic then I would, reluctantly, optimise for IE6.

    If the above is not an issue then I would drop support for IE6. I think most developers are dropping support for IE6 except in cases where the bulk of traffic would come from corporate users and networks who have no choice but to use antiquated browsers that are installed on client machines.
