Hey all,
I'm running short on time and I tried searching but didn't come up with anything right away. Can someone point me to the WSO (or discussion thread) that sells/discusses WP themes that make Wordpress look like a traditional website? I would be very grateful for any help finding this.

How do you mean make it look like a traditional website? You can basically make it look any way you want. I wrote a short free tutorial a while back on how to do it.

    Hi there!

mlcmartin is correct. You can search "wordpress templates" and get loads of sites with pre-designed templates that might be what you want, or you can hire a designer that's familiar with Wordpress to create a custom design and have it turned into a template.

Most of my clients don't even realize they have Wordpress sites. They come to me to build a website. However, because I like and am familiar with Wordpress, I build my sites in this interface. Also, it gives the client the ability to log in later if they want to edit their site.

My point is that you can make any design suit Wordpress if you have a designer that knows what you want or find a template. You may find many templates look the same, and are discouraged to find the typical two-column or three-column layouts everywhere. However, that doesn't have to be the case--mostly anything is possible with WP.

You may want to look around places like "http://templatemonster.com" to get some ideas. Or message me, a Wordpress designer.

just find a free theme and edit the header.php, sidebar.php and pages to either delete e.g comment section or sidebar widgets to make it look like a general website, but why would you want to do this?

    Hi Techie Turtle,

I highly recommend that you take a look at headwaythemes (dot) com. It will allow you to completely customize your WP site like nothing else that I have ever come across. Hopefully this helps.

I have no idea why people bother creating their own themes for projects like yours, just use Woo Themes.
