Hi all,

Do any of you know of service I could use to have a silo structured website made for me using WordPress . I have been looking on Google, but had no luck finding one. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Terrence Taitt

What is a silo structured website?

It's a way of organising content which avoids duplicate content, whilst using tags and categories.
It also implies that your content is a pile of rotting grass.

    Hi,

There are free and paid plugins to convert an existing blog into a SILO structure. Instead of looking for a service, look for a plugin and you'll find some at Google. However I suppose a static HTML site will work good with SILO structure.

Are you recommending I use WordPress to create this static html website? I really like WordPress as it is a very flexible platform. Let me know what you think.

I don't think you'll find a non-fuzzy definition, since it's just someone's theory about SEO and content organisation. There are other ways to avoid duplicate content.

You don't need a plugin. You can use categories to organize your silo. Just use the categories with the %/postname%.html permalink. You connect each post with anchor text using the "more" tag. WordPress is perfect for linking using the silo technique.

Can I use the /%postname%.html permalink, if my post pages are created in CSS? If so, how do I go about it?
