RSS feed stumbling block

Help! I've hit a brick wall. I've opted in doing our companies website. All is well except for finding Rss feeds related to the website. (First website attempt)

I know all about finding Rss feeds, about putting them onto the site and creating them but for the life of me can't get hold of relevant rss url's.

The site is about Electric Power & Telecommunications cable SA, products range from low to high voltage cable, copper & fibre optic cabling.

I've tried news, blogs, directory feeds and the likes but can never find any topic / category that this industry falls into ...

If someone could please advise, even if i could just have 1 or 2 feeds to jump start the site & get it published I'd be ever so grateful.

A good place to search is dmoz.org. Their goal is to have a comprehensive directory of the Web (a la what Yahoo started of as), so they obviously have to categorize everything. I did a search for 'electric power' and there were quite a few possible categories.

Of course, you may have the problem that RSS directories don't have as many categories as DMOZ, so you'll just have to pick a more general category for your site. Disappointing, I know, but I come across the same problem all the time.

I tried dmoz.org. My search results gave me relevant sites but without RSS feeds.

If thats not the problem then i mostly get results for computer and TV cabling, mobile phones & technology or for Manufacturers & suppliers

I guess this site is not cut out for RSS feeds unless i concentrate on creating my own but i specifically want to go auto.

Start with trade associations - see the Weddles Association List directory.

    IF NO ONE DOES NEWS

If there is no good news aggregator then I would create a second site in wordpress, set up Google Alerts as a feed with your keywords, add Feed My Blog to the wordpress site, and moderate it a few minutes every day. Then invite every related trade and professional association to register on the site as a contributor.

Now you have your feed and a nice side business. Monetization is left as an exercise for the student.

There are RSS feed directories just search the categories for relevant feeds. You can find a list of RSS search engines at
