Hi,

I'm new to the forums and have quick question:

I've an ecommerce website that was previously hosted and registered with GoDaddy. Last night I moved the domain registration to NameCheap and bought a reseller hosting account with HostGator (I have 10 sites in all and figured that the reseller account would best serve my purposes).

However, my question is, should I purchase an SSL certificate from NameCheap or from HostGator? NameCheap is a bit cheaper than HostGator. I already accept credit cards on my site so do need to have an SSL for this one site. If I do purchase an SSL form NameCheap is it fairly easy to have it set up on the HostGator account?

Thanks!
Kina

I'm big on the idea of "easier" over "cheaper." If you can purchase everything you need from 1 source, go with it!

Aside from easier, HostGator may charge you to install an outside certificate - then it might not be cheaper

I have a hostgator business account and the free ssl that came with it. They installed it in a day for me and every went very smoothly. I think it would be easier to use hostgator.

Thanks for the replies! I have opted to for a Business Plan at Host Gator so as to utilize their free Private SSL. Thanks for the advice for everyone!
