Looking for WP theme to build a certain kind of store

I've been making miniature stores by modifying WP themes. It's a little tedious to modify something not intended to be a store into something resembling a store. I need a good WP theme for this, and there seem to be quite a few out there.

One important thing - I will not be doing any kind of shopping cart integration. I will just have general category affiliate links that link to the merchant's store.

What's a good theme that's easy to use for what I want to do?

      I don't know if thats a good idea. Honestly, when I can tell a store is built on wordpress exlusively it looks less legitimate

        - First of all, many sites are built using WP and most people do not even notice it.

        - What exactly makes WP less ligitimate than, less say, Magento?

          I agree. I sometimes check sites to see what they are built with as I am just interested in what people are doing. Some very high-end sites by top companies are built using Wordpress.

          It often, not always, just seems very thrown together. Not saying you cant pull it off but I think its worth the extra effort to do without WP

            It does not matter if its wordpress or zen cart or whatever, Smart people use WP and the rest struggle with crappy scripts and pipe dream pre builts. Wordpress can be anything and everything, It boils down to your level of knowledge and experience.
