    Hi Soccer,

is your new website a blog? If so I'd definitely go with Wordpress, especially if you're looking to do social networking, etc.

I have a ton of experience with both Joomla and Wordpress and WP is a lot friendlier "out-of-the-box" than Joomla is.

I seriously doubt that you have a lot of experience with both... Joomla is simple, but a lot more flexible than wordpress, out of the box.

Anyway, this thread is a waste... he tried spamming, and failed miserably. Fix your sig link buddy.

Wrong again. Not sure why people take these things so personally. Joomla is simple to me, since I know how to use it. Except anyone who knows what they're doing installs JCE right away and/or K2 just to get up to a functional level.

Plus if they need comments they'll need to go choose and install a comment system. Not to mention that the default Joomla template is horrible for SEO.

Yeah, sounds great out of the box.

WordPress is user-friendly CMS. It's is perfect if you want to create blogging platform. But if you want to create more powerfull website with more functions the best will be Joomla. And you wil be able to create ecommerce website if you will need, just install VirtueMart or HikaShop component

Wordpress by far is going to be your best bet. it is relatively easy to use and navigate, and there are a lot of plugins that will help you out and ultimately save you time
