I have been playing around with internet marketing of and on for the past few years with various websites and I am slowly closing in on the finer details of what makes a good website opposed to a not so good website. Having said that I am not sure what to do about the following.

I have a Joomla Website with a bounce rate of 72%. I am told that the BR should be below 50% at least?? Sales are slow with a daily visitor count of about 25.

I am not sure what to do to correct this problem. I could play with it myself as a trial and error situation to see if it improves or I could give it to someone to correct for me.

Reading through the forum I see 2 sides to this problem.

1) If I do it my self I will have the experience and learning.
2) If I pay the right person I will save time.

The site may need a few tweaks or a re-build?? I just don't know?? Who would you recommend to look at it for me and for a reasonable price? Is there a way I can find out via some software as to what the problem could be?

I also I hear that the Wordpress site it much more user friendly so would it be worth jumping ship with this website?

Moving forward I want to do things correctly with as little re work as possible. With all the experience you guys have in being a successful internet marketer what would be my best option in gaining knowledge and shortening the learning curve to be successful.

Any advice would be truly appreciated.

To lower you bounce rate you should have the focus on the homepage be something that really gets the visitors attention and gets them to stay on the site a look around.

You can do this with a well designed graphic, slideshow, or a free offer - like an ebook that your visitors can download.

When you promote the site, you should also promote it in areas that are relevant to the content on the site. This will make sure that you have the visitors on your site that will want to look around a bit more.

Wordpress is defiantly the most supported and flexible platform on the internet and should always be considered when building a website.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks JT808 for your response and yes it does help. I have now got something to work on.

My home page is my sales letter offer page for my E-book which is also my landing page.

Is it normal or good practice to have your offer as the home page?
