Wordpress theme help needed!

Hello fellow Warriors;

I've been struggling for about 6 months to find a good theme for one of my internet properties. I've changed this site repeatedly and am still really unhappy with it. I have tried free and premium themes and just can't get it how I want it.

I'm looking for your assistance on this. I am NOT looking for you to critique my site: I KNOW IT IS TERRIBLE, hence the reason for this post. All I am looking for is solid suggestions on WP themes that might suit my needs better. Here's what I am hoping for:

1.) A clean, light theme
2.) A theme that focuses on content - nothing fancy or resource-consuming for pictures or graphics at all
3.) A theme that allows me a moderate ability to customize - ESPECIALLY the header


So that I don't waste your time, I have already tried these themes and found them to be unusable:

*Black & White
*Creatiadots (premium theme)
*FlexSqueeze (premium theme)
*Grey Matter
*Life is Simple
*LightWord
*PHP Ease
*Prime Press
*Renowned Mint
*Rostar
*SafiTech
*Smooth
*SubtleFlux

Other than Journalist, these two come closest to meeting my needs (but still SUCK):

*WP Framework
*LiasBlueWorld (Was the theme for several months)

I also REALLY like Afterburner but could not get it to work correctly. Couldn't figure out how to get rid of the Afterburner header image and lots of other problems. May need to delete it and download again, I might have missed something somewhere.

I don't care about cost, I'd pay several hundred for the right theme. (No, I don't want one custom-built)

What I really care about most is a focus on content. This property is for professional content services of a larger parent company. I intend to focus a great deal on this site this year and need it to be appealing. Right now I find the site to be ugly, NOT user-friendly and hardly set up for conversions.

That's where you come in. I will personally provide 2 professional 600+ word articles complete with directory submissions (if you want them) to the person who recommends a great theme that I am actually able to use. (Currently a $35.50 value)

If you help me setup the theme (or get Afterburner problems fixed) I'll be happy to discuss more content in exchange for your time and expertise. And this isn't some offshore garbage- everyone on my staff has a professional degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Legal Research & Writing, or some other writing-specific degree. We provide exceptionally high quality work that is extraordinarily compelling and well-optimized, so this is a pretty good deal just for a few moments to help out a fellow Warrior. ;-)

Also, what does everyone think about having the front page of a services website as the blog/articles page?
