Creating a Static page for Wordpress

Well I have come up with the idea that I need to create a static page for my blog(Link in the description). Well I have never made a static page in Wordpress or anything for that matter and was wondering what I should do with it? I wanna make it something that is a lot more appealing to viewers of the blog. I also wanna maybe use it as a way of increasing my sales/ adsense revenue as I make next to nothing from either now. So where exactly do I start for making a static page in wordpress I just have no ideas as far as what it should look like or anything.

    Not sure what your definition of 'static' page is, but that's what PAGES are for in WordPress. Those are meant for static content (such as your about, contact, terms and conditions, etc). Some people use PAGES for their content as well.

    Your page will look very similar to your post but is entirely dependent on the theme you use.

    However, in case I have not interpreted what you need correctly, you may also want to look into creating a page template (which is basically a page which you can design/code/style to your liking). It's quite simple.

    If you were referring to a squeeze page, you can create a page template that serves that purpose as well.

      ...is your question related to the overall design/structure of the page or how to actually set it up in Wordpress so that your homepage isn't a list of your latest blog posts, but rather a static page?

    To make the static page, you go into your Wp-admin, then under Settings, and then go under Reading Settings, and then set it to Static page there. Once you have that set up, then you're going to create a PAGE. That static page is like your home page. When thinking how to set it up, think of the different areas of your site and what areas you would like people to be able to visit. Then you can create hyperlinks with images to other parts of your sites, have somewhere on that static page for people to sign up to your list, etc.

      You can choose what shows as your default landing page in WordPress by going into the Settings Menu, choose Reading, and then choose Static Page (choose which page you would like to appear from the drop down box of pages you created already). Don't forget to save the settings.

      I notice the ads and links take the reader away from your Blog, so I would definitely change these to open in new pages. That way the person isn't immediately gone from your blog if they click on one of your links or offers. If you need any help with this let me know.

      Additionally, for my personal taste, if you want to make the blog more attractive, I would choose a theme with a more defined sidebar as the text in the sidebar tends to blend in to the main body of the blog.
