SEO - Backlinks count

Does anyone know if yahoo backlinks and google webmaster backlinks are approximately in the same range?

I have 5000 yahoo backlinks for one of my site but google webmaster tools shows near 20,000 backlinks. Does yahoo backlinks finally reach near the webmaster google backlinks over time? Is it a known issue?

    Its Depend which software u use for cheking the backlinks..Do not assume just because you see a backlink that it's carrying weight.I m using Referer.org for this purpose for a long time. Referer.org have the same features as Google, but also includes an invaluable service to me RSS feeds. by subscribing to the RSS feed for my own pages I get a notification whenever I get a new link to my page, including a screenshot of the page. And it optionally lets me put the list of referrers on my own page.

      I use regular tools such as yahoo site explorer and google webmaster tools.
      I wonder of such descrepancy between backlinks count between these two engine.

    I think in yahoo you have selected the option except this domain therefor yahoo showing you low figure, try watchbaklinks(dot)com.
