I created a really cool animated gif file that I wanted to use as the head of my wordpress theme, but when I load it on artisteer, the animation is gone. Just wondering if anyone on here new a way around this. Or if there is a user-friendly wordpress theme that allows animated gifs on the head. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. I know its not the best practice to do this, but one of my clients is requesting it . . .

    Artisteer doesn't support animated gifs natively but there is a way to do it once the theme is finished

    You have to edit your index.php add the line:
    <div class="art-Header-gif"></div>
    You will also want to go into the css folder and change your template.
    Look (search "header") for - background-image: url('../images/header.png');
    and change it to:
    background-image: url('../images/header.gif');

    that should fix it for you, good luck

    I might be wrong here, but I have found when I "host" my animated gifs on sites such as photobucket.com and then import them into my header areas on wordpress themes built on artisteer they tend to work.

    Why dont you give that a try and see if it works for you.

    1) Create your animated gif
    2) Upload and save it on a site such as photobucket.com
    3) Load it into your header from photobucket
    4) Test and see if it works.
