Help with wordpress theme I am making

Hey Warriors, I have recently been working on a template for wordpress for an offline client, the one issue I am having is, how to go about adding an image on the homepage under the header, for e.g. I have my header designed and placed, and then the navigation menu bar right under neathe. Then I want to seperate the next part with a permanent image that changes, for .e.g a slideshow, and then underneathe that I want to have some written content, thats all I am trying to do, but finding a hard time adding the image!

Can anyone with some wordpress experience help me edit this theme? I created the theme using artisteer, and it doesnt give the option to seperate the nav bar to the content, and goes straight into the blog post, which I dont want it to do!, I want to have that image stay there throughout the whole theme, and all the pages, as if its part of the theme.

Any advice and help would be amazing.

    I don't know how to do this with Artisteer but I can do it with the Genesis Framework from Studiopress. I would suggest getting a Pro Plus pack for their themes if you plan to develop clients websites. Those themes have sliders built in. Its worth the investment!

    Learn yourself. Dont pay for anything before you start earning.

    Once you know how to do it. Trust me it will be a piece of cake for you.

    Go through the Wordpress tutorials, there are thousands all over the internet.

    Pick up a random premium Wordpress theme, try to duplicate it only for practice.

    Trust me you will learn faster.

    Thanks for the replies guys, I have been at it for the last couple hours, trying to edit sliders in between the header and blog post, and it is soo hard, I dont know how to get it to stay in between!

    Does anyone have any plugins or widgets for a decent slider to be placed in between the content and header, without much coding required, this coding stuff is giving me a headache atm!
