I have a PDF book I want to add to my website so that after people buy it, they can access it with a password. Do you know or can you point me in the right direction so I can do that please?

You need a product delivery system in place.

If you're a not a developer and do not want to funk with coding your own secure page, use this:

DPD Shopping Cart | The Easy Way to Sell Downloads, Keycodes, and Tangible Goods

I have used it, it's simple, cheap, and easy. 6 bucks a month, i think. for one book is enough.

they also take payments via paypal.

Problem with giving out password to your customer is that this password will be all over pirate sites with direct link. DPD protects multiple download. I usually allow people one or two downloads. If they screwed it up, they will contact me.

I know that you can also send them a link after the sale for an obscure subdirectory off of your main site. Just create a page called c1rt56d3 with no menu bar and no access from the site map and no follow from google. Like: www. yoursite.com/c1rt56d3 Every time you get an order you will have to change the page name, but if you start to get a lot of orders then use a service.
