Simple slide show to insert in WP header???

Hi guys.
Does anyone know know of a super simple method (or) wp plugin that's Newb friendly?

I've tried several plugins, but I have yet to find one that I could make work.

I'm ok at putting together wp sites with moderate customizations, but I'm brand new to flash.

I need to insert a flash or flash-like photo show in about 1/2 half of the 940px header space in the Weaver 2 theme (same as Twenty-Ten). It can fade (my preference), rotate, push, or whatever...not too picky at this point.

I seems as though the instructions to every plugin that I've tried have just a little something missing or either it's a bit too vague, at least for a beginner.

Can anyone help...I've kinda gotten myself in a bind, timewise, messing around with this.

Thanks,
GerryLee

Have you already created the .fla / swf slideshow and need to put it into the header? Or do you need a plugin to create the flash-like slideshow?

      Hello Charlie,
      Thanks for the reply.

I'm looking for a plugin that I can get to work...or a method by which I can create a header canvas on an image editor such as Pixlr, paste my graphics on one side, and then insert a photo slide show on the other...then upload the completed header to my WP. (using Weaver 2)

Sor far, I've tried vSlider, Flash Fader, and oQey Headers. I'm sure that the problem lies in my total newness to Flash and the fact that I'm just in the beginning stages when it comes to messing understanding coding.

I've taught myself quite a bit in a fairly short period of time, but this has me stumped and I've run myself into a time issue.

      Again thanks for responding...any ideas?

      GerryLee

P.S. So, Middle Earth-wise, are you anywhere near The Shire...'Hobbitville"...same zip code...what?

      Hey Payday,
Thanks to you, also, for the response.
Here's the thing...I don't generally have issues with customizing up a header in an image editor (Pixlr, etc.) and then uploading it to my WP theme with the Dashboard Header Upload page. I've done that in several free WP themes. These were all done in different combinations of static text, graghic images, and photo images.

The problem I encountering now is trying to figure out how to create a custom header which is 50% static text and graphics, with the other 50% being a flash photo slide show.

So far, I haven't found a method or a plugin that I could figure out how to make work. Typically, the instructions just aren't quite specific enough for someone who is fairly new to coding and/or completely new to flash. (Too many little blank spots where these guys must just assume you know this or that, when the this or that may be the very thing you needed to make it all click...could be just me though, I guess).

Anyways, that's where I'm at right now...looking for a solution.

      Thanks again,
      GerryLee

      Payday,

I forgot to mention that I've got a strong interest in a couple of the premium themes that you mentioned, namely, Thesis, Genesis, and another on called Headway. When funds permit I'll probably purchase Headway first, possibly Thesis. (check out Headway)

The point is, I appreciate what you're saying about the advantages of premium themes (although, for now, Weaver has a pretty amazing amount of customizing options built in, compared to he othe free themes that I've seen).

So, having said that, let me ask you this, is there something about the themes that you mentioned that would provide a flash solution for the issue I raised in my previous post?

      Regards,
      GerryLee

If you want to use flash header then you can use flash type wp template or you can also make flash file (.swf) then upload in header plugin ...

      Thanks IBcontact,

My boss didn't see any flash themes that she cared for befor she got tired of looking through all of them

Also, I really dig the options that come built into the Weaver2 theme. Sooo....

I like the idea of creating the .swf files, and would love to learn this method, but I'm definitely not knowledgeable on this at present. This is only my my fourth WP site, in addition to a couple of mobile friendly sites that I created, so I'm definitely still learning stuff every day...I love learning stuff!

Got this Flash bit thrown at me at the last minute, so I've been scrambling for a solution. Since I started this thread (and my reply to your esponse), I've manage get the slider placed where I want it within the header and working properly...COOL!!!

The challenge that remains, is to fit the logo graphics into the other side of the header. I need to get this figured out and all will be well.

      Regards,
      GerryLee
