Wordpress <H1> problem

My wordpress website doesnt have a proper H1 tag on the homepage. elementinfotech.com

As I'm looking at the page source, I see <h1 id="logo"> which contains my site description and path to my logo image. I ran my site through pearanalytics.com. It came back and said I do not have an H1 tag.

How do I add an H1 tag to my homepage if the theme doesnt have built in support for it? Is there a plug I could use?

Thx

I think pearanalytics web app can't detect your h1 tag properly, your h1 tag is there. However, you can add anything to your theme using Editor under Appearance menu in WP-admin (good for quick edits). Of course you'll need at least basic understanding of html to do things like that.

So I guess you know everything about web design - right?

Geez, you must be really bored to take time out of your busy schedule to post a rude comment!

It appears that pages and posts show two H1 tags.
Only the logo h1 shows on the home page.

Edit your header file and change the h1 for the logo to a div. (opening and closing tags)
You may have to edit the "logo" entry in your CSS to make adjustments.
This should eliminate the duplicates on the inner pages.

I'm not sure where you would use an H1 tag on the home page. Perhaps in the About Us box surrounding some keywords. You would use CSS to correct the position and font size.

The title formatting is messed up since of the class=" . . ." attribute that remains unchanged in updated <h1>/<h2> tags on "single.php" file. WordPress Stylesheet is assuring the web browser that anything with an <h1> tag is supposed to show up giving as well as bold, and anything with an <h2> tag is supposed to show up more dimly.

Switch to the default 2010 or 2011 themes - they are the only themes using the h1, h2, h3 tags perfectly.

If you don't like them - at least study how they are made... instead of listening to all kind of <cough> smart advice.
