Still Don't Know Wordpress...

How bad is it, that I haven't used Wordpress at all?

Does it really make SEO that much easier?

Can I still be successful outsourcing any and all Wordpress
sites I decide to build?

Should I just bite the bullet and learn it already?

Thanks For Your Opinions.

I dont know what your talking about - WordPress is a tool you use to get online faster, and manage your content in a easier way.

Not using wordpress would not have any implications.

I love wordpress because it lets me easily setup a website, and edit the look of the site without a professional designer, and also add functionality, which otherwise would cost me a lot of money if i was to integrate it into the site.

Thanks for this last paragraph of your post, IamPower, it's given me a bit of incentive to tackle wordpress with more purpose. I've been fiddling around with it a couple of times, but have been quite intimidated by all the features that I'm unfamiliar with.

Wordpress makes getting a site up and running very fast and easy. It's not hard to learn. You don't absolutely need it to run a business, but it sure helps a lot. There are tons of tutorials at wordpress.org

Had someone help me start a new blog a few months ago, but haven't been posting much because of lack of wordpress skills. Going to wordpress.org right now to try and find out how to add an affiliate link to a review on my blog. Thanks for the mention!

I can see the value of a blog if you want interraction with others.
As a web designer, there is a HUGE market for custom wordpress designed templates. While there are a lot of free ones, I personally have them custom designed for clients and they LOVE what they get.

So you can still do web design and learn wordpress too.

I only have two real website and about 100+ wordpress blogs.

It just make SEO a whole lot easier and adding content in there is so much fun! For my main website that I always work on is a real website though, but for the rest is always a wordpress blog.

  • It's not crucial that you know WordPress, but there is a reason so many people use it. It's great as a blog, or even just as a CMS (content management system). The SEO benefits are built in to the platform which makes it a lot easier for IMers to optimize for Google.

I use it for all my websites because it's just so darn easy to set up and get going building links, etc.

it's not just a blog but a CMS. Easy to set up, easy to manage, easy to design for once you learn how templates work. The downfall is it can be kind of slow on shared hosting, depending upon plugins used, who you host with, etc...
But for people offering web solutions it is a must to know. Even the newbs have heard of WP.

Wordpress is definitely a software for website building that is worth a shot. I mean it is 100% free besides some add-ons and themes, easy to setup, and gives you a lot of advanced functions that make SEO and content building easy.

Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

WordPress is not particularly necessary for "SEO". With that being said, it definitely helps you manage your content in a much easier manner. It is also displayed in a way that is much easier on the eyes when you're reading, and don't forget that looks are a big factor.

If you don't know how to use WordPress as of now, it's not too late to start learning. It's extremely easy and can be learned in just a few hours.

As I'm a "Drupal Organization Member" I can say that SEO is easy for Drupal too. And It is the best for huge traffic websites. It's up to what do you looking for... The White House preferred Drupal for example...
