I am desperately hoping somebody here has some advice on this

I have a client who is having me put together an anniversary website for his wife. He has sent me roughly 200 images that he wants in a slideshow. This is not my strong suit and I am having a hard time trying to figure out a way to generate a simple slideshow with fading in/out images.

My main concerns are...

1) Load times

2) Not taking days to put together lol

Any advice is GREATLY appreciate and I thank you in advance for reading this!

This is probably your best bet: 280 Slides - Create & Share Presentations Online

If you have any familiarity with programming at all then there are any number of jquery plugins that will make this easy. Just search for "jquery slideshow" or "jquery slider"

It's actually really easy. You open the software, import your images, tell it what settings you want and then publish it. The software publishes an html file and other necessary files. Then you can just cut and paste the coding into whatever file you want.

Let me know if I can be of more specific help
