What kind of website are you looking for? Have you tried looking at some of the free site designs available on line. They might work for you.

Did you try any of the specialized sub-forums?

    1. Warriors For Hire (they advertise their services there)

    2. Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You (when you advertise what you are looking for)

In other words: do NOT try to advertise here for free!

I don't understand what your trying to say, so I will just make this short. If someone is looking for help, why should people not offer to help out someone.
That's simply all I have done, is offered my service to someone who is looking for it.

I don't see what's wrong with helping some one out? I thought that's what forums were for to help others out.

Which means you did NOT click on the link and did not read it. Short enough...

If you offer, as many people do, offer HERE free help, it's all fine.

If you post around to attract people to your site AND to offer your paid services... it is NOT fine. Got it?

You can offer your paid services in the WSO section or in Classifieds or in W. for hire - where you pay for the right to advertise your services.

The problem is you are both posting in the wrong forum and it's against the rules. That's like asking for a kick out the door here.

No, he's not. I am. (One of them, at least.) And if it continues, I'll ban the both of you.

      Is that sufficiently clear?

I'm not usually that abrupt about things, but Istvan was telling you the right way to handle things and you want to argue with him. It shouldn't matter if someone is an "official" moderator. If they're pointing you to the rules and interpreting them correctly, you ought to think about taking that advice.

The members have a vested interest in the Warrior Forum. Play by the rules and you will more help than you can imagine.

That's why I put "official" in quotes.

Still... Fair correction, sir. I acknowledge my mistake. Thank you.

No correction intended. That thought just came to mind when I saw Gete's post.

A side benefit to me was that I was able to test the edge of my self restraint.

    Joe,

Good answer. Still, the fact that I wasn't the first to make the mistake doesn't change the fact that I made it. And the correction was just as valid in my case as in his. Sooo...

    Thanks again.

    Paul

    PS: Nice example of self-restraint.

    I have an honest question.........

So, if someone wanted to ask for some help from someone in this sub-forum or the programming one, they have to pay for it?

I can see when they are looking to hire for help, but if they need a little help, they should be able to ask for it, that's what this forum is all about......at least I thought.

I think there is a fine line to be walked here...........?

Steve, my friend, you know better than that! There was no "fine line" in this thread. Just some stubborn disregard of the rules...

Of course, there is nothing wrong asking for HELP and/or offering HELP. And I can witness you are one of those that offer help selflessly. And I even saw you asking for help in areas that were not your strongest one...

In my dictionary "help" offered in a public forum is free, public and useful - as opposed to "go to my site" + "hire me" + "problem solved".

    Hi

I am new to this forum and was just reading few topics and threads.
My opinion - no disregard to anyone pls, I do seek apology if I hurt anyone

Istvan, Paul, Steve and few others are right - I would not say also that Gete and others are wrong.

A forum is made to exchange ideas and help each other to solve related problems without any fee, but again, the moderator should take care that a topic is not deviated from what it is for.

    Like what happened here

It was Gete who started the post and posted some requirement, the moderator should have not published it since it is about hiring someone. A mail should have reached Gete stating that your topic is not published due to the reasons .................................................. ..........

Now looking into the posting made by Gete, people came in who are offering similar help (either paid or free) and started conversation, wherein then people like IStvan and Paul came and started teaching and making others aware of rules.

My point is that I want to say that this thread would not have been so elongated if in the very first moment the moderator would have not published the topic.

I am saying all this for I am an owner of a forum myself, and have made a system taht every post would show up only after confirmed by the moderator or admin for which I have to hire and keep a team to work on the same.

Probably, you missed that this forum is not moderated*. There are hundreds, if not thousands of post each day... so it would be a nightmare to have all the thread approved by mods.

Most of the time, even new members conform to the rules, especially, if they are warned about it. Of course, from time to time you have the reckless "smart" guys, who think the rules don't apply to them. Most of the time they have a very short career on this forum...
