WP Commenting Settings

Warriors, I need a bit of help:
I am trying to set up my wp site to allow people to comment freely, once they have had at least 1 comment approved by an admin. I have also got it set that people need to register before they can comment.
In discussion settings, I have unchecked the box that says that An administrator must always approve the comment
and checked the box that says Comment author must have a previously approved comment.
Frustrating to me though, I test post from admin, and friends of mine have tested posted more than 1 comment to bypass the need to have 1 comment approved, but each time a comment is posted, even by somebody who has multiple comments approved, their new comments need to be approved by an admin first. Anybody got any ideas as to what I need to do to make this happen? Cheers.

It is always good to set up admin approval or any spam protection for wordpress commenting otherwise you will get tired of thousands of spammers . You will see spams withing few days of your website marketing .so either use anti spam plugins like akismet with admin approval option enabled .

There is another good plugin for it . Conditional captcha plugin which can do this job .
    wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-conditional-captcha/

this plugin will do both spam protection and auto approval of comments.

If you want users to force registration before commenting then check the option under your settings.

definitely consider installing commentluv. The pro version isn't free but it gives you this sort of flexibility, and also really encourages commenting.

Plus, if you use it there's hundreds of dofollow/commentluv lists you can get on, and these list pages are generally pretty popular and have a decent PR, plus they will send real commenters to your site which can spark discussions

hmm... I am not sure if I understood everything. But did you tried it without the need that a user has to be registered? Maybe that is the reason. If it works without the need. Then it could be maybe the standard user rights (you can set it up somewhere in the settings... author, admin, reader, bla).
If it is not this issue... then I have also no clou. Maybe just playing around. Uncheck this and see what happens.

Remember also that the user has to enter always the same email. Means user 1 is writing a comment with email bla [at] bla.com. Admin approve the comment and user 1 is comming back after 10 days and is writing again an email. The email has to be again bla [at] bla.com.
