ok, its voting time. But only vote if you have experience with both systems.

Which do you prefer for web development and seo?

    I prefer WordPress.

As far as the backend goes, they are really quite similar in features. I've watched WordPress morph from blog platform to a CMS that is similar to Joomla.

As far as SEO goes I think you can go with either. Based on the theme or template you use you can have a site that does better or worse. I personally customize all my wordpress themes to help it out for cleaner code, better seo, etc etc.

I think at the end of the day it can come down to preference but for me, the WordPress community is so good and the plugins that are available are so good that I can create amazing dynamic sites really easily. So, I just love wordpress.

    Hi,

Definitely Wordpress. Joomla used to have so much more customization options, but as Wordpress grows, there is just so much more support for it, as well as a superior backend allowing auto updates, plugin installs, etc. Joomla is still clunky on the backend.

    hello
I would like to say that the choice between those systems depends on the purpose of your website and also on your knowledge of web development and design. In addition, when you compare the simplicity of both those systems, you will notice that working with Wordpress is a lot easier, so there are many beginners, who choose it instead of Joomla. When you take a particular project, you should check exactly what are the requirements of your client, before you choose any of these content management systems.

I prefer Wordpress. I found Joomla too bloated and buggy. I used Joomla for about 2 years before switching because it had so many issues. To be fair tho I havent used Joomla much since I moved to Wordpress/Drupal/et al so they may have improved it. But I don't feel the need to go back to it. FWIW I set up a quick test site for a client using Joomla (at her request) recently and after a few days she contacted me saying she didn't like the backend. She found it too confusing. I set up a new test site for her using Wordpress and she was much happier.

  • Two different tools for different purposes. Joomla is much better at organizing and sorting data. Problems as a blog platform. Session ID's can create multiple indexing for certain plugins.

If you do not have huge data to manipulate then using WordPress as a CMS makes more sense because it's easier.

WordPress has had a dozen updates in the time since I began using Joomla which has had only a handful at most.

    Definitely Wordpress!

It is extremely easy to install and use for all beginners.

Wordpress has the best themes and it is super user-friendly for advance and newbie users. The ability to customize your website according to your preference can be easily done using a Wordpress platform.

The amazing thing about using Wordpress is that you can install various kinds of beneficial plugins for your website. You can easily search and discover numerous interesting wordpress plugins (free and paid) to enhance your website and turn your site into a remarkable space on the World Wide Web.

There are also numerous gorgeous wordpress themes for you to download and install into your website.

Wordpress is the next wave of website creation and if you are not using it, you are certainly out of trend.

I personally have over 200 websites created and built using Wordpress and counting...!

I would highly recommend using Wordpress for all your website creation projects! =)
