hi,

just wondering if anyone could recommend a good WP template for setting up my first blog in the IM niche.

Im not new to the industry but im new to WP and blogging

    Take a gander at Themeforest (Premium WordPress Themes, Web Templates, Mobile Themes | ThemeForest)

    They have a wide range of templates out there for a decent price which you can install and configure yourself (point and click in the admin panel).

    That would be my first stop when looking for a template.

    Also, have a browse at some IM-related blogs, and find out what theme their using. 9/10 you can grab a copy of that theme.

    You can do this by viewing the page source, and looking for something like this:

    Viewing the CSS file normally will give you the theme name, author details e.t.c

    Yoo Themes
    ThemeForest

    All really good. Some services are membership but you have access to 100's of designs.

    Google Free wordpress designs you'll get tons of sites as well.
