What specifically do you mean about more quality images? On my computer they look very clear and at least to my mind, professional.

the site seems to look ok. I think a left column with more categories and other links might look good too. Most other online stores have that.

In my opinion you should leave it as it is. Delaying those menus can cause that potential customer will not wait till it will show.

Thanks sofiaisabella for your reply. I dont understand the fresh Content part. What makes the content to appear not fresh? Is it all pages or just the homepage.

I have an ecommerce store with 1,800 products and is ranking top 3 for over 700 keywords. Ecommerce websites aren't known to have compelling content. Content really, isn't a must... it is just what you have heard and you happen to believe. Whether it is truth or not, you have absolutely no idea, just one to hop on the bandwagon.

The design is good. Are you using some open source platform or is it custom developed. In any case, the drop down delay option should be controllable from the .js file for the menu. There should variable for that in the options in the .js file.

This is a custom site. For reason in JS file it dont have an adjustment for delay on mouse over. It does have one for how long the dropdown window stays down. I been trying to figure this out, if you have any other ideas let me know.

I think I dislike how you have the page split in two.
Real soon I am gonna update the site and I am gonna take this into consideration.

There has been some mixed reviews about this. The images looks great on all the computers I look at. But now I did notice on the extra big screen there are a little blurr.

In my opinion "fresh" means something new.
This one I still don't understand. All the products are all up to date. If you click on a product it is todays price.

I really appreciate all of your time to check out my site.

You guys are on some kind of drug... the pictures look fine.

I don't know what to think about your website though, to tell you the truth. At first look, I think it is cool but something isn't right. I think I dislike how you have the page split in two. I think that distracts me, and my eyes are likely to be drawn to the center of the page and you have it split up. I think with the slide show you are wanting peoples eyes drawn to the left, but it isn't working out that way in my opinion.

I don't like your drop down menu, I think you can do something to make it mesh a little bit better. The main thing here is how you have your layout on the home page. I don't like it.

This site could be killer for your visitors, I really think you need to avoid the split page on the home page.

A for effort no doubt, but I'd give the site a B- until you would fix the home page, then you would be on your way to an A.

Looks good. Just too much whitespace around, maybe you can cut short on it to make it look more concise.

I agree with you winger. I would like to have a background color or add more colors to the boxes, but I would have to edit all the round corners. I am due to update the whole look soon. Thanks for your input.

You can use jQuery's "delay()" method to delay the appearance of the drop down menus.

Do I have to add to the jQuery's delay() method code? The only delay code I found is for how long the window stays open. Not for hover.

I used to have more on the homepage, but i backed it to 24. I wanted to have less links on the homepage (Cause I had to many). I should make a link to another page that list them all. There a hundreds of brands that I could list. Thanks for pointing that out Tom.

Thanks for your review. I am still not understanding the image thing. Some are saying the images are clear others are saying not. On all my computers and any other computer I surfed they look clear. I would be curious to find out why they dont look clear to others.

I do appreciate the time you all have taken to look at my site.

Good Job! I like it. The one thing I suggest is that there is too much white. Maybe add some subtle off white colors to the content boxes to separate them from the background white?

Yeah, lke someone else said in an earlier post. I agree. It is something I am gonna look into when I redesign. The problem is the rounded corners. They make it a pain when you want to change colors. Is there an easy way that I don't know about, that I can change the background of a box with rounded corners?

Is it better to have a fixed width or a percentage? Is there a way to set it on percentage, but stops at a certain width, For people with wide screen monitors?

Home page - nice clean design. Keep away from too many colours or 'jazzing it up'. Top shopping sites are lean and are not afraid of white space. If pressed you could make the pictures in the 'Whats selling right now' a little larger, while keeping the module the same size, just to fill in a bit. And by the way, the pictures look excellent on my Toshiba laptop - will check on the studio kit in the morning. Another strong attention grabber is strong photography, which you are developing in the slideshow already.

I wouldn't delay the dropdown, its pretty smooth. However, just out of interest I've downloaded the .js files and if I've time will have a look tomorrow. But I do have a issue with the menu style. I' get rid of the heavy border, and stick with the nice dividers between items.

Product pages - bit long! Offer viewers control of number of items per page, as ebay. And tighten up the left column content, make modules the same width and but up together.

I prefer fixed width content in a wrapper that centres the content. I'm not keen on the 'Whats selling right now' and navigation being being variable. I think in css its either % or a figure, but not both. But you can set the margins in creative ways.

Taisien, I really appreciate the you spent reviewing my site. I cannot find the offer viewers to shorten the products. I been searching but dont know what file they are in. The only thing I was worried about delay was when going to search box sometimes the curser hits the menu and covers the search box. Do you think thats an issue?

talisien, I made the images bigger. I used code to make the images bigger, The images are 100 x 100, with the code they are 125 x 125. I'm sure it would be better to just remake the images to 125 x 125 right? I was just afraid that bigger images might slow down the site. Anyways, I do like that area with bigger images. Thanks again for the suggestion.

The what's selling right now at the side is completely misaligned. Not sure if you have set a min width on it as some of the images are cut off and overlapping.

The navigation bar is split onto two lines for me.

This is using an ipad and viewing through the native safari app.

Other than that it looks like a pretty nice website.

Thanks beezer123, I minimize my site and I noticed how it gets all mis aligned. The narrow the window get the more misaligned everything get. I went to Amazon and noticed when I minimize their page, it only gets so narrow , then the page stops getting narrow and then a horizontal scroll bar is needed. I have my site set on percentage width. It seems like Amazon has fixed and percentage width. How hard is it to do that?

      Thanks DaveMike,

I don't use any tools. I wish I did. It would make life alot easier when editing. I just copy code to notepad and edit and copy back to site. I hear alot of members talking about wordpress, I should give that a try. No outsource.

You don't need to do very much.

Does your site have a container div?

If so then use CSS to set the min-width and min-height. That way then the user makes the window smaller, it will hit a minimum width that you've set and a scroll bar will kick in.

Shouldn't need more than two lines of code if you already have a container div set up for the entire site.

I added minimum width to the site. It works alot better now. I should probably add max as well, for users with wide screens.

Looks good. Recommend bringing in the lowest price to the front page for a particular category. e.g. Underneath the text Diamond Rings insert a Starting From price and pull in the lowest currently featured product price from the database (which at time of writing this was $2.99). Do the same with the other categories - this should help to reduce your bounce rate and draw users into the product listing pages. I've uploaded a pdf of what I mean at internetmarketingclass (.co.uk) at the extension /qpricing-feedback

On the product page it would be good to have in addition to the in/out of stock message a quantity 'in stock' - scarcity is a proven conversion booster!

You need a better logo and a matching gravatar, IMO. Something that looks more memorable, and that doesn't look like it's cut off at the bottom. Also many of the pages have a bunch of random numbers and letters in the url, which can't be good for seo. EX:"http://www.qpricing.com/m~b-10090000~c-Women's-Clothing.aspx"

Robert thank you for the detailed PDF. Those are some great idea's. How do I go about setting up the home page with those prices? I would like to set it up where it does it automatically.

It will be hard to set up the lowest prices on the pages, most of the products are set up as a search query and will pull the products most relevant.

I am seeing the site in my internet explorer and as so many others have mentioned, your product images are not clear on the homepage. They are a little fuzzy. On product pages they are fine.

Also the right side border (orange line) is getting cut because of the images on that line. The find button of your top search bar is also only half visible and half cut.

Other than these flaws your site is pretty decent looking and it was smart of you to use the amazon website colors. However, if you want to match exactly with the amazon website color scheme then better change your shade of blue because it's not exactly matching with the amazon site's blue color.

    Hope my review helps...

Thanks Sabiha for your detailed info. I can't understand the image thing. I been on a hundred different computers. Stores, friends, and family computers all sizes and shapes, I have not seen the images look fuzzy at all or any of the lines get cut off. I do know tere are several members here that said the images are fuzzy as well. I would like to know why, what type of computer and operating system you using?

      Thanks again

I don't like the white background on the white boxes. Try to make the boxes pop out more by adding some color in the boxes.

Thanks EricDelano for your input. I tried your idea. The only things I dont like about that is the image backgrounds are white. I don't like the look of a white background image over a colored background box. Is there a way of making the image backgrounds transparent or the same color that I would make the box they are in? Thanks again..

Thanks TemplarMarketeer, I am gonna give that a try for awhile. I added it for a little flavor in the footer. It seems like the page loads faster now.
I added Adsense in the product pages, but they match te theme of the site. Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks again

The only "fuzzy" image I see on the homepage is the TV, which looks like the screen has been smashed! I'm on a massive HD monitor and the site is completely left-aligned for me, it needs to be centred.

I would suggest you keep your main page white, as otherwise the ad images are going to look extremely odd. However the main page background could be altered to a very pale blue, perhaps with some subtle texturing.

I would suggest completely ditching the Adsense. Which would you rather have, a 50p click or a £5 commission?

      Karen,

Thank you so much for your detailed review of my site. I have made some of the changes. The TV images and centering the page. I am not sure yet what I am gonna do about the background color. I agree the pale blue would look great, but all the top tabs would have to be redoe and the info box in the top right corner as well. They have rounded corners.

I think it looks good. I like the color choices. Some of the images are not realy sharp, the chain bracelet for example, is fuzzy. Nice idea though? How is the site going? Are you getting sales?

I like the professional internet shop look though it reminds me a lot of amazon don't know why probably because it's the same niche but still.

How long have you been working on it? Have you done any promotions like seo, social media optimization?

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks IceT for your comment. Yes I have had several people comment about the Amazon thing. I have had the site since January of 2011. I have done some SEO and social media optimization. Or I should say as much as I can do. The site is currently getting about 12000 visitors a month. My goal is to get that daily.

      Thanks Again

the design i sprofessional and suits a shopping cart.. but the logo and header could be made more attractive and markin a brand impression of your site... and use higher quality pics for the products.. customers ll be pleased only by the presentation for such sites.
