Wordpress sticky posts and not sticky?

Not too sure where I should put this post - so Website design seemed the most natural.
With Wordpress - there is an option to stick a post to the homepage. I would like my homepages to display 10 posts.
How would I go about making certain posts not to display on the homepage, without amending some form of code?
I.e. Assuming Ive got 5 posts, 2 are sticky, and my website is configured to display 10 posts on homepage. If I wanted a certain post NOT to be dispalayed on the homepage - how would I go about it? Currently all 5 posts would be displayed.
Any help would be appreciated
