I am using a wordpress theme for a website. I just created a simple aweber opt in form and created a side bar widget to place the opt in form on my page. The problem is, the opt in form is cut off prematurely. Does anyone know how to adjust the placement of a widget or opt in form in wordpress?

    Yes, I know exactly how to adjust it. Go back into Aweber and go to your web forms tab. Open the web form from your site and change the width something a bit less than the size of your sidebar.

    If you use Firefox you can install the MeasureIt extension and then actually measure the pixel width of your sidebar so you know exactly how big your form can be.

    If you have any questions please let me know.

    Hi,

    thanks for the response! I did try to make the aweber form smaller, a strange thing happened, it just made my opt in box cut off even more on my web page! Any idea why that would happen?

      That doesn't make much sense. Without seeing the site URL there really isn't much else I could suggest. You may want to try different browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome) to see if you get the same results in each browser.

      I haven't seen such an issue before and the Aweber forms usually work perfectly on all of the sites I have installed them on.

      Can you post the site URL?

    I looked at the site and the form is definitely being cut off. However, it looks like the form could actually be a bit bigger. The Ad Squares widget above is 300 pixels wide and the Aweber form widget you have placed in their is only 225 pixels wide.

    Are you using the javascript code provided by Aweber or are you using the raw HTML code? I am not sure this matters just curious. If you are using the raw HTML code I would suggest trying the javascript code.

    I can't tell if this is an issues with your theme or the aweber form itself. Without login details for your website and aweber account I can't take a closer look. If you wouldn't mind privately sharing these details I could take a quick look. If not, I would suggest you contact Aweber and have them help you out.

    If you have any questions please let me know.

    I am using the javascript code. I am guessing it is something to do with my theme because as soon as I put the ad widget in the sidebar the youtube video disappeared from the sidebar. So something weird is going on with the theme. Do you think I need to adjust something in the CSS or PHP sidebar doc in my theme?

    Maybe you should place the form code inside left aligned div tags.

    <div align="left">
    This is your form code!
    </div>

    Hope it helps.

    A problem with your them would definitely explain it. Without looking closer I couldn't tell you. I would suggest you get in touch with whoever you purchased the theme from. All the best!

    thanks for the suggestion abrahamgpg,

    I placed a div tag around the javascript in the widget, it did not change anything. I am not sure if you meant I should put it somewhere else.

    CoMpUtErGoD20XX,

    I cannot send a private message yet so I added you on skype to give you details.

      You need to place the code inside a normal text widget on the sidebar. If this does not help, I think Aweber does have it's own WP plugin you can use.

      And maybe do a quick theme change, It might be the theme that breaks the widget.
