How Do I Make Wordpress Excerpts Work?

I can't get my excerpts to work. I've tried a couple different methods and none of them work for me. Can anyone help me out. The site is Equine Therapy | Drug Rehab Center Texas.

I've had better luck with just using the  tag (any content before  is used as the excerpt).
