Where to place a Blog

I am building a new website (St. Lucia Honeymoon & Beach Wedding Photographer - Kirk Elliott Delivers St. Lucia Wedding & St. Lucia Honeymoon Photography That Will Take Your Breath Away…) on a wordpress platform and want the website to include a blog.

From a SEO standpoint is it better to have the blog as part of the actual website e.g www.StLuciaWeddingGuru.com/Blog.php or should the blog be at a separate url e.g. Index of /

I will be grateful for a brief explanation as to why the correct way (which ever one it is) is better.

Many Thanks,

Kirk

    Hi Kirk.

It's been a long time since I've heard from you...might be my absence in the forums...lol

I'm afraid I can not give you an answer to your question, but I just had to jump in and say "hi" and tell you that your site looks great.

I did not know you where a wedding photographer. Why haven't you mentioned that before?

Well, hope you are doing good and hope to be able to talk more with you here.

    Your former forum friend,

    Victor A. Roestad

P.S. Sorry for what happened in BestAdForum.

Just checked your web site and it is using the wordpress platform.

I think it's fine as it is with wordpress in the root directory. Why complicate things?

Have it on your web site, as part of it. So, when search engines look, they will see that your site is updating itself constantly (provided you post once in a while).

Otherwise, you will have a blog which has traffic, but no conversion because there are no products/services there, and a web site which has products/services, but no traffic.

From a visitor's perspective also, it is easier for him to remember one URL, rather than two URLs.
