How to change size of picture?

How can I change the size of a picture from 300 pixels wide to 700 pixels wide?

Can this be done? I have photoshop and Snagit. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi Jan Roos

Any idea if you can get a free version of Photoshop that lasts longer than the usual 30 day trial period?

The basic programs I've found don't keep the pics in proportion when resizing.

Have you tried Gimp! It works very well, even though I am a PS user myself..

you can also upload to http://www.picnik.com/or http://www. fotoflexer.com/ or if you use mac to scribit and change the dimensions online. I just use snag it or paint when I need to change things.
