Hi,

I have a pr3 tech site and I offered to sell links on it on another forum, few guys contacted me. But then a guy complained about the rates and said that mys domain is a drop down domain.. what does it actually mean?
Is it a technical term or was he just saying that the site is not good enough??

I did a little Google research for you and couldn't find any clear answer for you.. Now I'm curious. Maybe you could ask him for a specific reason he isn't interested in the domain. His answer may either reveal what this slang term means or that he just doesn't see/know the value in your domain.

I think it means that your domain wasn't renewed by it's owner and was left to expire, that is called a dropped domain, maybe that's what he meant.

To find out the history of your domain go here and enter your domain,it will tell you if it was dropped before.

well I've looked my website there. I mostly tells me about my webhost because my info is masked or something..
But even if it was dropped, does it make my site less valuable.. An my domain is a top level domain with .com extension

No,I wouldn't worry about things like that,I have a few domains that were let to expire by previous owners and they rank just as good as any other domain I have, these types of things are way over exaggerated by people sometimes.

Maybe he meant something along the lines of your site not being a top level domain. For example if your website URL is something like www.yoursite.freewebsites.com, Your website would not be a top level domain because it is just a sub domain of freewebsites.com instead of it being actually yoursite.com

    Does that make sense?
