Risks of Changing WP Template

Hi Guys,

I have an existing site that does pretty decently but I feel the template it uses is a bit of a hindrance and I really want to move up to using the Genesis Framework.

I read some things online about people changing their sites in terms of their appearance and then having Google slap them for it/de-indexing them etc.

I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on this? Am I needlessly worrying here or is this a legitimate concern?

    Hi,

If you keep the content the same, keep meta tags, permalinks, etc. in place, then you will be fine. Get your site into Google Webmaster Tools if you haven't yet and it will alert you to any broken links and/or missing content.

web template does not affect you google ranking, if you keep the old content and on-Page setting etc.

I heard that too, but I second keeping the keywords and meta tags the same and you should be okay.
