  I would recommend you to go for a custom template/theme from a designer. Explain him/her about the site and what you are going to do in your website. And let him/her express in their way. Make it as an unique and branded.

I would recommend custom design from a Professional Designer. Your design layout should be something that tells your visitors what is this site about.

I really HATE WP e-commerce themes. If I am pushing various products I use zen cart or Os commerce. If it is a single product a splash screen / squeeze page that can be done in WP.

Presta shop is a fairly decent e-commerce system.

Easy to install, easy to use.

Zen and Os commerce are fantastic, but there's a bit of a learning curve and not the easiest to theme. If it's something quick and easy you want then Presta shop isn't too bad.
