sites like technorati, feedburner, pingomatic are feed site.

The automatically take any new post from you rss feed and
    add it to there site.

I wordpress settings / writting you can define a ping list.
The ping list will automatically notify these sites that you have a new post.
I tried posting my ping list, but the forum made a mess of it.

and yes it can help, but like everything it depends on your content.

Wordpress blogs automatically have an RSS feed. It is usually "yourdomainname/feed". You can then use a service like Feedburner to 'burn' that feed so that you can track signups and other analytics. Besides using a ping list to get it out, there are also RSS feed distribution sites. One that I hear a lot is Feedage.

Don't forget to put an RSS link on your site somewhere, like your sidebar, to make it easy for people to subscribe to your feed. There are plugins for this and it's another great way for people to follow your content.

There are a lot of SEO techniques you can use for taking advantage of your RSS feeds, but it depends on how much time you have to devote to straight SEO and linkbuilding vs. creating content and doing other marketing activities. If you're relatively new, I'd suggest just creating the feed and ping list.

The site produces unique movie / game / gadget reviews once a day.

The reviews are anywhere from 400 - 1000 words

Is it good idea to add these reviews to article directories ? or is that a dead SEO technique ?

I'm on my own with this site I got some writers to write the articles I've 14 lined up for the site that will post once a day .. i'll get more once they are running out.

I want to bust the traffic, But building back links on my own will be hard.. and i don't want to use any of those auto SEO things like SEnuke as it might do harm.. and hiring someone is an idea but money is short.. and some of them might use Auto SEO / Black hat.
