Hi
i am looking for a plugin/ solution -- which can help display -different affiliate products in side bar according to post.

Example-- a post about canon 600d -- i can display a 300 x 300 banner in sidebar of canon 600d

for a post about nikon n90 - i can display a banner of nikon n 90.

rather then having a common sidebar all across the blog, is there a way we can show specific products for each post

thanks and looking for solution

I'm not sure about a plugin for this, but the way I've done this in the past is to add a photo of the Canon camera, for example, in the post. Then I make the image clickable so it takes the prospect to the corresponding Amazon page. Do you know how to make the image clickable? If not, let us know.

I use the custom widget plugin, and find it really good.

I also use a draft post to create the HTML for the image - insert image and edit the link URL to your affiliate link, and update all the other names etc.
            Hit OK
Then go to the HTML tab and copy and paste into your widget box.
I would also suggest to open in new tab/window) that way the person is not leaving your site.

I was using this plugin a while back that lets you change the sidebar widget to match each individual post, here's the link to that plugin.

If you add Adsense to the sidebar, the ad will "change" according to the content on that particular page. There are of course many other contextual-content advertisers that can do the same, like Microsoft ads, Chitika, etc.

You can also look at a plugin like WordPress › 123Linkit Affiliate Marketing Tool « WordPress Plugins - I haven't used it, but they say:
What is 123LinkIt? 123LinkIt allows bloggers to streamline the affiliate marketing process by analyzing their content and transforming relevant keywords and product links into affiliate links.
There may be other plugins that can do this - search on WordPress › WordPress Plugins

I just checked them out and yes they use contextual links within the posts and you make affiliate commissions through them from CJ only as of right now so this will do nothing for a side bar banner ad.

There is a plugin (Widget Logic) that lets you have different widgets in the sidebar for any post or Page... practically, for any possible view in WP.

You could use a custom text widget with the custom html (aff?) code for any each post.
It doesn't happen automatically but you are very much in control what is displayed.
