Godaddy has a privacy protection option you can activate for a cost (some coupons in circulation might even make it free) when registering a domain and it will put up Godaddy's details instead of yours or you can register a PO-BOX and use that.

Hi, thank you so much for your help. I am really new and don't know how to do it. While registering can I see that option in Godaddy?, I don't have PO-BOX so that is the reason.

      Thanks.

Yep, your options are either a PO Box or private registration.

PO Box is cheaper in the long run. Plus if you plan on running an autoresponder, CANSPAM requires an address at the end of each email. So as you can see, a PO Box is useful for more than just domain registration.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but I don't have PO Box address, so any other solution.

      Thanks

No.. Those are the only 2 solutions. You can either use a PO Box, or you can get private registration.

www.namecheap.com has free private registration when you buy the domain thru them.

I have all my domains with godaddy, I dont know why I sill deal with them as they are painful bunch of fools to deal with, but I do use there private domain feature for all my domains to hide my personal information.. it costs a bundle,

I dont know why I never considered a po box - maybe I might look into that.

Ya most domain hostings offer some sort of privacy protection, sometimes not during the purchasing of the domain but after the site goes live.

DONT USE GODADDY.... They are by far the WORST registrar in creation. Use name cheap. They will give you free whois protection so it is a win win for you.

Namecheap is great. Other registrars that provide free whois protection are Netfirms and Internetbs.net
