can i used favicon.png instead of favicon.ico?

    animated favicon will be the best with dimension 32 x 32 and for animated favicon u must go for .png

    You can use animated gif as favicon. I'm not sure about browser compatibility though.

    Im sure this is not posible . With Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox i ever seen a webpage with animated favicon , so this is not possible
